The Lady Eagles continue to stretch their win streak with outstanding perimeter shooting. Braylynn Peck and Morrell Koch light it up from outside during Sat. night action.

This was a defensive battle as neither team could gain solid advantage. Eads finally won, 36-30, behind Hansen's 19 points.

DISTRICT 2 RUNNERUP

The Eads girls nearly got unbeaten and top-ranked McClave in a thrilling 39-43 loss to the Cards. Eads will face Walsh in the regional tournament on Saturday

DISTRICT 2 RUNNER-UP
Eads Lady Eagles

Pictured is a disappointed Eagle group that nearly toppled the No. 1 team in the state in the District 2 championship in Lamar on Saturday night. Team members from left to right are: Destiny Saffer, Kerissa Sicklebower, Alysha Uhland, Braylynn Peck, Morrell Koch, Brittany Peck, Jennie Richards, Talli Hansen, Chevaun Glover (hidden), Bethany Kerfoot (front), and Alyssa Hadley. The Lady Eagles now face Walsh in the state-qualifying regional tournament in La Junta on Saturday, March 5.

 

EADS GOES BACK TO THE 1A STATE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

The Lady Eagles managed to defeat Walsh, 45-34 in the Regional finals on Saturday and qualified for the state tournment for the third time in four years

REGIONAL CHAMPIONS: A happy Eads group shows off their regional trophy on Saturday night in La Junta. Eads has their hands full in the state tournament where they face undefeated Julesburg in the opening round. Pictured with the trophy are (front) Alyssa Hadley and Alysha Uhland (back) Bethany Kerfoot, Jennie Richards, Talli Hansen, Kerissa Sicklebower, Chevaun Glover, Morrell Koch, Destiny Saffer, Braylynn Peck, and Brittany Peck.   THE GAME CAME DOWN TO FREE THROWS as the rest of the game was even. Eads was hot early from the line, but struggled late with Walsh putting pressure on. The Lady Eagles hit for 16 charity shots while Walsh only managed to hit 8. Alyssa Hadley is pictured on the line late in the game and managed 4 of 8 in the final quarter. Hadley handled Walsh's intense and constant pressure in a big way and contributed 11 points in the win.
