The Southern Plains 16U team just missed going to the World Series in Massachusetts this year as they lost to the Missouri state champions in the championship IF game, 4-3.  The two teams split results, 2-2, and Southern Plains outscored Missouri overall, 18-15, but could not finish the one game they needed to go to nationals for the fourth year in a row.  Below are photos from the Midwest Regional Tournament held in Englewood, Colorado on July 17-20, 2008:  (Team members were: Erik Melgoza (Coach), Doug Kuhns (Coach), Gaila Mitchek (Mgr), Nicolas Kuhns (Bat Boy), Lisa Miller, Jordan Barnett, Adi Cruz, Anna Kuhns, Jordan Melgoza, Karlee Stuart, Casey Mitchek, Kelsey Baker, Emily Rosales, Brittni Legg, Hillary Dwyer, Lauren Weber.

Kuhns represented the tying run for SP...but was nearly picked off at second
