The Millennium Project began as a multidisciplinary project that combined library and historical research skills with writing a research paper and a news article. Technology was used in many facets of the project and included skills in digital photography, computer applications, web authoring, and basic computer applications. The project was created by Betsy Barnett (School Media Specialist) and Pete Conrad (English Department) who worked collaboratively to bring in local community resources in order to conduct original and authentic local history research. The result is a collection of newspaper articles about various aspects of the local history of Kiowa County which were printed weekly in the local newspaper, the Kiowa County Press during the year 2000 in order to celebrate the turn of a new century and honor our past heritage.
